Vaccination is A Must To Keep Children And Adolescent Healthy

Dr Prince Parakh believes that we should stress on adolescent immunization also. It is important to vaccinate in the age group of 10 to 19 years of age. Indian Academy of Paediatrics recommends giving Tdap and HPV vaccine in this age group. Those children who have missed MMR, Hep B, Hep A, Typhoid, varicella vaccine in early childhood should receive them in adolescent age as a part of catchup program. Flu vaccine and Pneumococcal vaccine can also be taken with doctors advice. It is important to take the advice of your child specialist before taking a vaccine.

Remember- vaccination is for all age groups not just children.
